OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Exploring Nature, Nurturing Development

How can we work together?

Occupational Therapy for kids utilizing the proven power of nature.

Individual OT

After an initial evaluation, clients are seen for individual OT sessions at a local park or trailhead.

Group OT

Group OT sessions are usually groups of no more than 4 students who have similar goals and are better served in a group setting rather than individual sessions.

Parent Consult

Are you unsure if your child needs OT? Do you just want to ask a few questions? Schedule a parent consultation!

About Me

Cortney Flores OTR/L

With a love for nature and the healing power of outdoors, I believe Occupational Therapy should be done in natural environments!  For Flourish OT, that means outside – at parks, trails, backyards, front yards, schools, and inside when we need to.

I started my OT career in 2010 after graduating from The University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!) with a Master’s in Occupational Therapy. I am a wife, a mom of 3 boys and usually trying to do multiple things at once. I have been blessed to work and learn in several different settings across the country including inpatient rehabilitation with adults and kids, outpatient kids as well as early intervention with the littlest of kids.

It was really my journey into motherhood that pushed me outside for equal parts my own sanity as well as the rich opportunities for development I watched unfold outside.  I love the cooperative and imaginative play the outside creates. I love watching my client’s mind’s grow and use the natural resources around them to learn, problem solve, experiment and work out interpersonal relationships.

Where do I start?

  • First step is to contact me! Email me at [email protected] and I will get back to you promptly.
  • We will then schedule a consultation to see if your child is a good fit for outdoor OT. (I have yet to meet a kid that is not at some level).
  • I also get to hear a little bit about what brought you to pursuing OT and you get to hear about why my practice is beautifully different.
  • The long and short answer is that we embrace the unique and beautifully different ways your child was created to make progress towards child and family goals all while welcoming the opportunities for growth that nature provides.
