About

Cortney Flores

I started my OT career in 2010 after graduating from The University of Kansas (rock chalk Jayhawk!) with a master’s in Occupational Therapy. I am a wife, a mom of 3 boys and usually trying to do multiple things at once. I have been blessed to work and learn in several different settings across the country including inpatient rehabilitation with adults and kids, outpatient kids as well as early intervention with the littlest of kids.

It was really my journey into motherhood that pushed me into nature for equal parts my own sanity as well as the rich opportunities for development I watched unfold outside.  I love the cooperative and imaginative play the outside creates. I love watching my client’s mind’s grow and use the natural resources around them to learn, problem solve, experiment and work out interpersonal relationships. Taking my practice into nature provides the best opportunity for my clients  to FLOURISH!

My Passion

I believe each child, no matter the circumstances, has unique gifts and abilities that can be used to make great strides towards family goals, milestones and sometimes inchstones (you know those little tiny steps towards bigger goals that only parents and therapists notice because they are so hard fought for).  Sometimes kids need extra support to be able to access and benefit from the outside environment. My excitement for the benefits of outdoor play has inspired me to take my OT outside! And what better place to do that than in beautiful Longmont, Colorado.

I am passionate about supporting the family unit, both parents and child(ren). I want to foster the growth and potential of each child that I work with and would LOVE to hear from you! Seriously, let’s chat.

My Goals

My goal is always to be your family’s strongest advocate and be really effective in my role as your OT in short period of time. This is so your family can get back to the business of playing, enjoying your time as a family and thriving with your new abilities and tools.

I want each parent to feel empowered that they are the very best possible parent and are uniquely gifted to raise and nurture their child.

I want each child to know they are deeply loved more than they can imagine and have unique giftings and skills to contribute to the world around them.

I believe together we can harness each child’s strengths to enhance all areas of their life at home, at school and in their relationships with friends and family.
